One of the first flowers I’d ever grown myself, back around 2001 - and one of the 1st I’d ever wanted to capture, literally to remember!

I loved the fullness and folds and magic of something so delicate being so strong to survive as such in the wind and rain and, here in Central Texas, the heat :)

It grew from the side of a little concrete stoop to our front door and reached round the porch support’s and found it’s light.

I’ve also included a black and white rendition, partly because I love BW photography, but also because I’ve recently begun studying values in images (vs my life long inclination toward experimentation & intuitive searching) and comparing the two, the color and the BW gives me a strange sense of awe.

Something about teaching me more about that merging of delicacy and strength I think (smiles).
