On my way to getting lost in the Costa Rican jungle earlier this year (2017), I spotted this large butterfly feasting on a shrub to my right. I retrieved my camera slowly and quietly as I could, but my heart was already beating louder than usual from the heat. Like an express elevator the butterfly rose into the open sky and I whirled and took the one shot I had.
I would have liked the butterfly centered more, but there is I think a certain minimalist appeal in what was captured (smiles).
