The view here is of the river, Lady Bird Lake, but, the swan lives equally at Barton Springs.
Painted around 2003, based on a photograph I took while taking my oldest granddaughter for a walk on Austin's then still-emerging Hike & Bike Trail, Swan on Town Lake (the river portion partitioned by a dam and now renamed Lady Bird Lake) represents a personal seminal connector between Austin's Barton Springs and Austin's Hike & Bike Trail. The trail crosses Barton Springs via a Pedestrian Bridge near where the springs joins the Colorado River. The Hike & Bike Trail is essentially the approximately 11 mile path around the manmade lake portion of the river.
The view here is from the south side of the river looking north. It's interesting how visible the north si...
©Felipe Adan Lerma - now in my early 70s, I've begun to blend aspects of my art I thought each decade I'd left behind - from my acrylic abstracts & figures in the 1980s, to my impressionist oils of the 2000s to my beginner blends of watercolors from 2019 -- now I enjoy sometimes mixing watercolors into my acrylics, discovering the new mediums and pastes and colors of acrylics, and blending abstract with impressionistic with surrealism. Sometimes simply creating color blocks woven in textures thick enough to see online. My work today, I'd say, offers both fine art collectibles and interior design. Occasionally, a work encompassing both. For blog posts about my art, please visit - https://www.FelipeAdanLerma.com -- thank you so much for...

Shelley Smith
Absolutely stunning Felipe! The textures are amazing as it pulls you into this amazing work! Looking forward to the rare snow pictures!
Felipe Adan Lerma replied:
Those are very kind words, Shelley, thank you (smiles). My larger snow one (of 2 snow paintings, lol) is even trickier to photo than my swan painting. It's much bigger, 32x40, and of course is mostly white :) But it has nuances and textures. With the swan I just had to keep retaking the picture, then finally comparing the digital to the original til I got it close as possible :)
Sarah Loft
Love this impressionist style approach, Adan! Beautiful colors and textures.
Felipe Adan Lerma replied:
Thank you so much, Sarah - I've kept a tight lid on this one for many years. Difficult to capture the true texture work well, but decided it was time :)
Robert Bales
Very nice painting with great texture and composition!! v/f/t
Felipe Adan Lerma replied:
Robert, thank you so much - so glad you like the texture and setup. I still remember (over 12 years ago) placing crossing layers of colors and waiting for them mostly dry so I could layer again :)
