Ninth in my intermittent self portrait series.
My Self Portrait images range from Vermont to Paris to Costa Rica to of course Texas, and in this case, Mexico :)
Our son gave us our only experience on a cruise via one of several offered out of the port of Galveston. Our last stop was along the Caribbean side of Mexico - we visited Mayan ruins plus had a few hours along the beach. Touristy, but it was nice!
Eventually this image - partly because of my cap and t-shirt I think and mostly because my cruise ship passenger ID on a lanyard looks like a sports whistle - became part of the cover for my collection of sports oriented poems - baseball to volleyball to golf to jogging and much more.

©Felipe Adan Lerma - now in my early 70s, I've begun to blend aspects of my art I thought each decade I'd left behind - from my acrylic abstracts & figures in the 1980s, to my impressionist oils of the 2000s to my beginner blends of watercolors from 2019 -- now I enjoy sometimes mixing watercolors into my acrylics, discovering the new mediums and pastes and colors of acrylics, and blending abstract with impressionistic with surrealism. Sometimes simply creating color blocks woven in textures thick enough to see online. My work today, I'd say, offers both fine art collectibles and interior design.
