Artist's Description
Though I still feel much can be done to enhance the beauty of Austin's numerous bridges over Lady Bird Lake, there have been significant improvements and additions that I feel have added substantially to the quality of life in the center of the capital of Texas. The Roberta Crenshaw Pedestrian Walkway pictured here is one of those major enhancements. Views from direct above the river, Lady Bird Lake, showcase downtown and other bridges to the east, and bluffs and hills to the west. A plaque on the north end of the walkway details how the Texas legislature had to "encouraged" to add the walkway to the original bridge design. The return on tax dollars is monumental and offered free to all visitors. I will soon be uploading a series of "rainy day images over Lady Bird Lake" from this particular day's visit and hope you will also browse and enjoy those images. These are memories of Austin anyone can enjoy in prints and posters, pillows and tote bags, and even shower curtains, duvet covers,...
About Felipe Adan Lerma
©Felipe Adan Lerma - now in my early 70s, I've begun to blend aspects of my art I thought each decade I'd left behind - from my acrylic abstracts & figures in the 1980s, to my impressionist oils of the 2000s to my beginner blends of watercolors from 2019 -- now I enjoy sometimes mixing watercolors into my acrylics, discovering the new mediums and pastes and colors of acrylics, and blending abstract with impressionistic with surrealism. Sometimes simply creating color blocks woven in textures thick enough to see online. My work today, I'd say, offers both fine art collectibles and interior design. Occasionally, a work encompassing both. For blog posts about my art, please visit - https://www.FelipeAdanLerma.com -- thank you so much for...

Carol, thank you! That's Austin for you, even in a rain storm, pretty active! 'Course it was very mild for the time of year too :)

Great capture, of kayakers hanging out under the bridge as runner, walkers alike exercise in the pouring down rain.

Fabulous capture Adan, great depth and pov!...fav/like/retweet
Felipe Adan Lerma replied:
Thanks so much, Donna! I might've not ever noticed the various lines into the distance if it hadn't been raining so hard - I was actually first focussed on the water pouring off the bridge in little waterfalls. When I started working on the picture "then" I saw the perspective lines! (smiles)

Jenny, thank you so much for featuring my Austin image in your Fine Art America artist group “No Place Like Home!” (smiles)

Great POV, wonderful composition, Felipe!!! L/F
Felipe Adan Lerma replied:
Mioara, thank you so much! My wife and I took our almost-4 yr old grandson to this bridge for a little outing and it started pouring rain! Luckily the walkway under the bridge was perfect! :)
