It took several days of record late August heat (for Vermont) and searching for the right bike, but my wife and I finally found our way to the South Hero entrance to the Island Line Trail for bicyclists and pedestrians - on a gorgeous mid-70s clear morning - and found this view of the lake and Mount Mansfield.
It was worth the wait!
