It surprised me somewhat that assembling the three pieces to my triptych had its own requirement when presented side by side. Biggest of these was the left to right sequence. On the trail that evening I had traveled east to west, and when the images are viewed geographically, the furthest left image was the latest into the sunset. However, to look “right” both my wife and I decided the left and right sides needed flipping. Now, reading the image like text, left to right, one reads the sequence I traveled during the sunset. This also creates, I believe, a more pleasing arrangement, with the rail trestles slanting inward toward the center image, thus creating a more cohesive three piece image. More fun than work, and definitley an eye-opener regarding structuring a triptych (smiles).
Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triptych) defines a triptych as, “A photographic triptych is a common style used in modern commercial artwork. The photographs are usually arranged with a plain border between them. The work may consist of separate images that are variants on a theme, or may be one larger image split into three.”
In this case I am presenting three “variants on a them.” Each panel piece is available as both a standalone image -which can be hung as a triptych, a standalone poster, a non-text triptych, and a poster triptych. A variety of total size lengths are availble from me here via Fine Art America.
As mentioned in my description of Silhouettes 3 in my “Birds and Fun at Butler Park Austin” series, I am finishing a long sequence of Austin images then taking a short break to present a few of my Vermont, Paris, and other images, including a print-poster version of a small NYC Central Park snow scene oil I painting I did around the mid-2000s.
When I resume my Austin images with another another extended run, it will probably be from this new “Austin Hike & Bike Trail” series, and from a new series: “Birds Boaters & Bridges of Barton Springs.” Galleries for each will be created on my Fine Art America pages when enough images for a series have been uploaded.
Let me know if I can help with any of your imaging needs for your home, friends, family, or work locations, including licensing.
Thank you so much for stopping by (smiles).

I am confuse by all the different selections to basically the same Image. Basically the Image is terrific. The one I like best is with trees on both sides, wider view, with reflections in the water. This image leads one deep into the beautiful sunset scene. Very Well Done.
Felipe Adan Lerma replied:
I actually know exactly what you're talking about, Robert. I struggle sometimes deciding which and how many variations to present, but it comes down to either expected or actual requests for different versions. Plus, to my own amazement, I can rarely predict ahead of time which, a text-poster version, or an image only rendition, appeals to people the most. But I sincerely appreciate your feedback, suggestions and compliments, they're invaluable, Robert - thank you! :)
