I see this image from my wife and I’s trip to Paris late 2012 and both see the beauty and remember the round about morning trip that led us to this spot. We’d wanted books of bus tickets for our six week stay but our bus ride to the main station was cut short when the streets were blocked off for peaceful protestors (another story!) So we walked the short further distance only to find, since it was the holidays, booklets were only available another office at a train station (smiles). That was too far to walk right then, so we wandered in the direction of the Seine, came upon palaces converted into libraries, then restaurants and shops, and finally this stretch between palatial buildings that would provide our entrance and introduction to the Tuileries - also another story :)
So all that is embedded in these wonderful variations of lamps (and in a second series, urns).
All in all, this one shot has given me the full size color & BW versions, plus vertical and square cropped renditions. Each has its own distinctive feel I think you’ll enjoy, plus as usual, each variation has small but distinctive changes to enhance the composition! - Thanks so much! - Adan
