Marking my on-going rotation from Costa Rican, Vermont, and Paris images, I am posting the second in my yellow Southern Dogface butterfly series. This upload includes both poster-greeting card and image-only versions. Below is part of my text written for #1 in the series which still applies, esp re our youngest grandchild (smiles).
Next I’ll be posting more Austin centered images (including more birds from Butler Park), a water fountain with a rainbow in it, and hopefully something special - shots of the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue from the Austin Hike & Bike Trail.

Even for Central Texas and Austin, seeing a small yellow butterfly and a healthy sprig of lantanas still in bloom and flutter was too unusual to resist. This is a small series I was so happy to finally get a few shots for.
My wife and nearly four year old grandson had been alerting me whenever they spotted one or more of the small yellow butterflies and I’d rush out, sometimes forgetting my camera, and try to catch them in a moment or two where they were still long enough for my young senior’s hands to steady and shoot (smiles). This one time, and only this time, I happened to have the car parked near a large lantana bush near the garage. Already a little tired from whatever it was I was doing and have already forgotten, I leaned against our car, and waited. I guess just being still and peaceful must have helped, because soon enough, the little yellow butterfly settled here, then there, then atop another lantana bloom, before flutter skipping the air to another yard.
