I’ve been working mostly on figure work lately, but have taken a much needed temporary detour back into floral work. Pink Blue Garden begins a series of four 8x10 watercolors I’ll be posting onto Fine Art America.
The “break” part for me is working more loosely with both color and form, both of which, based on subsequent figure work I’ll be uploading after these four pieces, I think feed back very nicely onto the female figure form. Both florals and my figure work involve a blend of softness and strength, evoking, I hope, a desire to see the surface of the canvas more closely.

Sarah, thank you so much! Sheila and I had a batch of roses that bloomed in their vase so beautifully I just had to do paint them. They also helped me bridge my more line & block figure work with a more practiced softness via this and the 3 other floral paintings I did after 😊
