One Bird is a simple image, and idea, that came to me as I worked on the last image in my Sunrise Over Malletts Bay series here at Fine Art America. In this last image I had two birds visible against the soft sunrise sheen glowing across the waters of Malletts Bay, but one, the one I use here, was also partially silouetted across the rise of Vermont mountains surrounding the northeast side of the bay. In extracting the birdís image from both the bright waters and dark mountains, I had to carefully study how I saw what I saw of the birdís outline. Portions on both the top and bottom half were nearly inseparable from either the coloring of the water or the mountains. Eventually I had to paint in, clone, erase, and readjust the final freed image of this one bird to fit the sense it had when crossing two distinct aspects of the scene - in reality of the Earth. I knew right away I wanted to create a poster and/or greeting card to celebrate the image and the feelings I now firmly associated with it. There may be more variations later, but for now, v1 and v2 give me a nice start (smiles). Thank you so much for coming by, itís very much appreciated.
