Floating Butterfly begins a unique new series for me.
I created an original pen and ink drawing, in this case a butterfly, then had the pen and ink printed on heavy stock acid free paper. The paper for Floating Butterfly is 140lb watercolor, and I used watercolors to color my drawing.
Over time I plan to produce original variations based on the same drawing. This is my BW digital rendition of my original.
Additionally, when they look good to me, I also present digital variations of the original. In this case I experimented and liked a BW variation, a digital colorized version, and a fine grain rendition. The variations themselves may help me create additional original watercolor or acrylic or gouache or even oil variations over time. I think it'll be an interesting way to age into my 70s with my art ❤️
The formatted size of my original art is 6x9 inches and is for sale.

Thanks, Al! Yeah, I was nicely surprised myself how well it looked BW, interesting in its own right! 😊
