I do think there’s been a bit of an over-development in Austin the last decade, but there are spots and moments where a sense of beauty is working with the utilitarian.

This morning vista along Congress Ave just down from the Texas State Capital, with the carefully preserved and planted trees displaying their fall colors, creating patterns of shadow and light across the avenue alongside the wrought-iron like bench, Saint Mary’s Cathedral towering above it all into the morning sky, is one of those moments :)
