My wife and I drove through several hours of hard to medium rain to get to Tarpley Texas from Austin and arrived at our BnB, The Fig Preserve, an hour before sunset. The short trip from Ranch Road 470 to the main house is a scenic rising curling path all its own. One stretch, edged with metal railing, has a small pull-over parking area carved from the hillside. Settling into our room, I quickly returned to this same spot and took a series of changing images of the sunset over the valley. This series includes those images from our first evening at The Fig Preserve. I've always loved visiting the Texas Hill Country, but this trip revealed more of its beauty than I had even hoped for. I hope you'll enjoy this first short series.
