This is a confluence of many things I’ve worked on over many years. The poem itself was written in the early 90s when my wife and I used to do arts & crafts shows and sold our original art and our original writings (sayings). The image is a re-pieced together recreation of an image I took in the early 2000s from a rose trellis at the front of our house. The rose is part of that photo and is also used as part of the cover for a 2002 or so novel I wrote titled, “Rosetta.”

In this current incarnation, I’ve created a greeting card poster version and a more straightforward image-poem.

“Heart Beats” was a favorite of buyers printed on parchment paper (same font) and matted to a standard 8x10. Trying to print out colors and a complex visual design back then (early 90s) was a bit challenging for a setup and tear down show routine, at least for us (smiles).

I’m happy to be able to present this new release of an old writing of ours. It joins others in my Writings Gallery here at Fine Art America. Other titles include “Graduation,” “Daddy,” “Dispatcher,” “Step-Mom,” “Faith,” and “Yoga Teacher.”

As time allows, I’ll continue to add to our newly (re)presented original writings from our collection of approximately 1000+ sayings for family, friendship, occupations, inspiration, and even sports.
