Nothing quite like a virtual whirlwind shift from working on tropical pura vida Costa Rican images, then focussing on winter in Vermont (smiles).
In this case, with this and the next image, also from Waterfront Park, there’s also a shift from shadows as clearly visible as the lit spaces among them to a softened oneness. Mostly, only hints of highlights and shadows play along the landscape. There’s no bright sun, clouds are thick, and the scene - already getting dark around 4 p.m. - is settled. Comfortable in differing ways than my most recently uploaded sunsets in Costa Rica.
It’s this variance, with naturally occurring similarities beneath it all, that gives me hope and a lift about life. Nature is so splendid in so many ways, and is still always nature.

Maxine, thank you so much for your gracious comment! :) It was over five years ago I took this picture but I still remember the moment I rounded the corner off College Street and looked down at the park's esplanade covered with snow - I felt the same way, breathtaking! So glad it conveyed to you :)
